We all need to watch and pray because we really do not know how everything will shake out as we near the end of the age. I think a few surprises are in store for us before the great tribulation.
It now looks like Israel and Iran will be going at it. Iran has almost 100,000 troops in Syria and they now are threatening Israel. Israel said they will not allow Iran to establish military bases in Syria but Iran is establishing them anyway. If Iran does not reverse policy, Israel will soon strike Iranian threats in Syria. When that happens, Iran is likely to launch attacks against Israel. That exchange would not end well for Iran.
Meanwhile, America is likely to pull out of the Iranian deal and Iran might publicly start up its nuclear development program again (they never really ended it). That is going to put taking out Iran’s nuclear capabilities back on the front burner. In any case, if Israel and Iran attack each other, America is going to be aiding Israel and Russia is going to be aiding Iran.
I don’t think the events happening this year will bring Russia down against Israel in any fulfillment of the Ezekiel 38 war. However, it could lead to fulfillment of the prophecy about Elam in Jer 49 34-39. In that prophecy, it appears that people of Southwestern Iran are evacuated to all nations on earth. Nuclear radiation might explain it.
As I said in an earlier post, this is Israel’s 70th year and something significant is likely to happen this year to change the whole middle east paradigm. That something seems to be shaping up because of the Iranian agenda to establish dominance over the fertile crescent. If hostilities breaks out between Iran and Israel, Hezbollah is going to attack Israel. Israel will then take over Lebanon and perhaps part of Syria. The beginning of the expansion of Israel toward its God-given borders could be that significant prophetic event.
Is this expansion the putting forth of leaves that is mentioned in the fig tree parable (Mr 13:28-30)? I tend to believe that Jesus was suggesting that after Israel puts forth leaves all the end time prophetic events would occur within just one generation. A generation in the Bible is from one generation to another, it is not a lifespan as some suggest. For example, the Bible tells us that there were 42 generations from Abraham to Christ (Mt 1:17). When a picture is taken today that includes children, parents, grandparents and great grandparents we say the picture represents four generations. Today a generation is about 20 years. I think most Bible prophecy students can agree that the all end time prophetic events can be fulfilled within 20 years.
It is possible that hostilities with Iran will lead to the Ezekiel 38 war a few years down the road. However, it is even more likely that there will be world war before Russia and her allies come down against Israel. I think satanic supernatural intervention will play a role in ending the next world war. The intervention is likely to be in the form of Marian apparitions and alien disclosures. The deceptive message delivered will be the basis for world religions coming together to force nations to stop warring against each other.
So how do we get to this forced peace? I think we can make a reasonable conjecture from the scriptures. Revelation tells us that the Beast has a woman riding on his back. That woman is religion that claims a relationship with God but is really in harlotry with Satan’s world system. The rider on the white horse under the first seal who has a bow but no arrows indicates conquering through a message of peace. Many throughout Church history believe that the rider on the white horse is Christ or Christianity. Others think the rider is the Antichrist. I think it could be pseudo Christianity attempting to conquer the earth through a religious kingdom now message. In other words, the rider on the white horse could be the same identity as the Harlot of Revelation 17 who rides the Beast/Antichrist into power. That would make the rider the so-called vicar of Christ who rules from the Vatican.
There is a movement in pseudo Christianity that is seeking to bring the Kingdom of God on earth through worldly social justice programs and “new spirituality”. The social justice programs are nothing but Christianized communism and the new spirituality identification is nothing but Christianized eastern paganism. Think of a world war followed by Marian apparitions and alien disclosures calling for peace, spiritual unity and an evolutionary leap forward and you get the picture.
We also may have it wrong about Israel signing a peace covenant with a secular figure. Israel very well might sign the covenant with someone in the Vatican in Rome. The Vatican wants to administer the holy sites in Jerusalem. Keep in mind, that during much of history the Vatican was running Europe. It became known as the Holy Roman Empire and it was run by the Pope. That could happen again after another world war and the demonic deceptions that I suggested.
After a great war, a new spirituality movement might be sweeping the globe and Israel might agree to sign a covenant with the Vatican Harlot for Jewish self-preservation. The Holy sites will then be administrated by the Vatican. Is this global religious movement the overflowing scourge taking place on earth and the covenant with death that Isaiah 28 speaks of? The verses are talking about Israel.
Isa 28:15 Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves:
Isa 28:18 And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it.
After signing the covenant, Israel is allowed to build her Temple, but as soon as they start laying the foundations the two prophets appear. The message the prophets deliver will throw a monkey wrench in the worldwide kingdom now peace movement. The message the prophets deliver will enrage the progressively minded world.
“What do you mean that the time for the promised Jewish Kingdom has come and everyone needs to repent of their sins and keep the commandments because the God of Israel is a holy God and the only way to salvation is through Jehovah???”
The world will seek to kill these prophets but they will not succeed until Satan comes in with a supernatural Antichrist.
Those who think they have end time prophecy all figured out are probably in for some major surprises fairly soon. We know what happens after the Day of the Lord begins because the events occurring in that day are defined in scripture. However, world events leading up to the Day of the Lord are still pretty much a mystery that might not play out as some have led us to believe. In any case, we are living in exciting times, but since we do not know how everything will play out, believers need to watch and pray (Mr 13:33).

There seems to be several “givens” concerning the book of Revelation, which I don’t see as given at all. First, almost everyone I’ve read equates the rider on the white horse carrying a “bow” that represents a weapon; a bow and arrow. The bow was first mentioned in Genesis as a sign of a Covenant God made with Noah. The way I read Revelation, this makes a lot more sense, especially if it is the same covenant mentioned later. The second “given” is that the covenant signed is some sort of peace treaty. I don’t see any indication of this. In fact, I think the covenant might be something like allowing the Temple to resume its role in the Jewish community, along with animal sacrifice. The wording in the book says that the “anti-christ” confirms a covenant, he does not make a new one. To confirm a covenant sounds more like the covenant already is in existence, but now it is acknowledged and allowed to proceed.
I think the Vatican having a hand in this is very likely to be true.
Don, no mention of the Asia aspects, I am not sure of the deception from N. Korea’s leader but as soon as he returned from his (in-person) meeting with China’s leader Xi, Kim Jong Un has now become another person? I always go back to Christ’s statement that evil will never come against evil so I am sure that China, Russia, Iran & N.Korea will be together in some form or another. I obviously do not expect peace or the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula even though I would love to see Trump win the Nobel Peace Prize and the Left/MSM heads explode but that will never happen since the global elite decide that prize recipient. I do expect something major to occur very soon as we have had a long interval between birth pains after a flurry of contractions last year. This tells me that the lull we have been experiencing will lead to a major event! You are right though, these are exciting times and after 18 months we finally have found our senior Pastor to lead our Church, and yes my church is one that is Spirit led and doing battle!

Korea, US, and the media to witness the shut down of their programs. I’m not sure what prompted this turn about, but, what ever it was, is very welcome.
As for Israel & Iran, I think we will know before the end of the year perhaps, because there are too many variables right now, amongst world leaders & the Iran deal. So, I’m watching closely and hope the Trump administration can work magic here too. Cautiously optimistic. But, not naive. I do realize things could go horribly wrong, and in a hurry too.

I did not mention Asia because Asia is not likely to be involved in the near term events around Israel. Any peace deal with Kim Jong Un is making a peace treaty with the devil. How will that turn out for the population being oppressed by this monster in North Korea? Anyway, all that is another article.
Currently, we have major Christian persecution underway in China under it’s new dictator for life,Xi Jingping.. We also have increasing persecution for the Jews taking place in Germany and in the USA. As things move closer look for further persecution of both. Furthermore, we have several dictators setting themselves up for life. We have Xi in China, Putin in Russia, Erdogan in Turkey and Kim in North Korea. Thank you Don for another good post. Your position on the completion of Biblical prophecy is one that I completely agree with. Too many people, that I have read, expound an interpretation and then refuse to admit that it may be implemented in a way they do not foresee. I like you way you point to existing facts and comment on possible prophetic fulfillments. We do agree that they will be fulfilled but I believe that the time and means will often only be clear as they happen. Personally, I think God made many prophecies subject to interpretation prior to their fulfillment. Paul, in 1 Corinthians 2 verses 7&8 (But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.) gives an explanation, IMO. That said, I am certain that God could have been as specific as when Daniel was given the 70 weeks of years and the timeline for the Messiah.
We are given to see the signs of the times however. The signs are everywhere around us, becoming more clear, more frequent, and more intense. You are pointing to the signs of the times and it makes the Rapture seem so close. We have some really bad times coming here in the USA, I do not know when or what or even if before the Rapture, and really no one else “knows”. Your opening sentence is the one followers of Christ should keep focused on where you advise us to watch and pray. During this time of troubles God does have everything under control.

Chuck Missler died yesterday at 83 years old. He also seemed to have a pretty good grasp of bible prophesy, but also always said to study the bible on our own.
He did say He believed the antichrist was living now. We know we are close to the rapture. There use to be only two super powers that balanced each other out. Now there are many super powers with nukes. Things are changing every day. One thing we know, we are closer than we were, and the false teachers are everywhere preaching another gospel.

I thought for sure there would be judgement on America after gay marriage was made law of the land, but nothing happened. God is ever merciful and still looking for the lost sheep. After seeing Cohen, Flynn and Manafort being subjected to the Soviet style “knock at the door in the middle of the night” I thought this would be a good time to tackle the book since we seem to be moving towards this type of thuggery. Solzhenitsyn ponders in the book why people didn’t make more of a fuss when they were arrested. Fear of course stopped people as was the case in Germany. They thought if they went along everything would be ok. They’d be let free and their families unharmed. Wrong. Pretty soon families were denouncing family members, they were being made to renounce God and everyone lived in fear. Man’s inhumanity to man knows no bounds. What happened to Cohen should make everyone realize how powerful and corrupt the deep state is. He is fortunate enough to have money and connections so he may survive. If any of us little people were subjected to the same “knock at the door in the middle of the night thuggery”, the words “due process” would no longer be in our lexicon. The one thing that might slow down the complete takeover is that we have our guns. That’s why the left is trying so hard to wrest control of them from our hands and sadly, because so few people have any knowledge of history, people are playing right into the hands of the deep state. All of this softening up of the people will allow the anti christ to waltz in and so many people will be easily fooled. I know, that is two articles in a month. Pete does not understand that the timing in my timeline projection article is not my view of when Christ will return. It is a projection based on the many conjectures listed in the table.
The reason I wrote the article is explained in the article. The 2047 far out date is based on the mean average of all in the table plus standard deviations, it is not when I think Christ will return. Since 1999 I have consistently said the Lord’s coming is likely between 2030 and 2040.
